Monitoring of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater – what the monitoring has shown us so far and where it is headed

Since April 2020, the presence of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater has been monitored at TGM WRI, p.r.i. The method of detection is similar to that of clinical samples, ie the presence of a specific fragment of viral RNA is detected by PCR.

Water Management Fifty

The TGM Water Research Institute, p.r.i., took part in the organization of the 46th Water Management Fifty on the occasion of the celebration of its 100-year existence. In addition to the classic choice between bikes and buckets, this year participants could also take a ride on a scooter for the first time.

Activities of the Civil Forum of the Water Research Institute in 1989 and 1990

In 1989, Prague units organizational and dislocation structure of the Water Research Institute (WRI) was rather rugged. It consisted of the traditional components of water management research, referred to collectively as section 20 located in Podbaba, and an experimental group dealing with wastewater treatment in Papírenská Street.

Ing. Miroslav Kněžek, CSc., died

Ing. Miroslav Kněžek, CSc., who worked at the TGM Water Research Institute, p.r.i., for almost four decades and who has contributed significantly to that the TGM WRI is respected authority in the field of hydrology and hydrogeology.

Workshop Water Footprint

On May 22, 2019, TGM Water Research Institute, p.r.i., organized a workshop on Water Footprint. The expert guarantor was Ing. Libor Ansorge, Ph.D. The workshop was attended by nine domestic and foreign experts dealing with water footprint assessment (WF).

Open Day at the TGM WRI

On June 20, 2019, the premises of the TGM Water Research Institute on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of its foundation, were opened to the general public as part of the Open Day, both at the Prague and at the Brno and Ostrava branches.
