Mgr. Vít Kodeš, Ph.D., is a head of Water Quality section of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. He graduated as hydrogeologist from the Faculty of Sciences of the Charles University in Prague. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Sciences of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague in exploitation and protection of natural resources with focus on pesticides in groundwater. He has worked at CHMI since 1990; he worked temporarily at the University of South Carolina as a technician in 1997–1999. His scientific interests are water quality monitoring, pesticides, passive sampling of micro pollutants and environmental information systems.
